Section III

Description

The project objective is to produce a Special History Study for Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve (TIMU) on the slave inhabitants and their descendants on Fort George Island, the location of Kingsley Plantation. The resulting narrative will serve managers, planners, interpreters, cultural resource specialists, and interested public as a reference for the history of the region and the historic resources within the park in the context of social and labor relations between whites and persons of color.
