Description

The National Park Service (NPS), through its National Center for Preservation Technology and Training (NCPTT), supports basic and applied research and develops and disseminates technologies for the preservation of cultural resources. NCPTT trains practitioners in new technologies and promotes technical preservation education for student and career professionals. The Recipient and NPS have identified mutual interests and goals for this agreement including: A. Research: develop and implement new technologies for the preservation and conservation of cultural heritage. B. Training: adapt new and existing technologies to the field of art conservation. Offer training courses for students and convene experts on technical and scientific aspects of hands-on conservation. C. Information Management: serve as knowledge centers and clearinghouses for conservation and preservation information. D. Financial Assistance: serve the preservation and conservation community by offering professional development opportunities through internships and training. E. Conference participation: to include holding sessions, participation in exhibits, and sharing meeting facilities.
