HAVA Election Security Grants

Objective

As authorized under Section 101 of the Help America Vote Act of 2002 (Public 107-252) and provided in the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2018, 2020, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 the funds are to be used to improve the administration of elections for Federal office, including to enhance election technology and make election security improvements.

Who Can Apply

• U.S. State Government (including the District of Columbia)
• U.S. Territory (or Possession) Government (including freely-associated states)

As defined by HAVA, only state recipients (including U.S. Territories and the District of Columbia) are eligible for this formula funding. Assistance is to be used to improve the administration of elections for federal office, including enhancing election technology and making election security improvements.

States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Guam, Northern Mariana and American Samoa.
