Objective
The overall goal of the CCR Grant program is to provide grants to assist states in the development and implementation of state programs for the control of Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR) established under section 4005 (d) of the Solid Waste Disposal Act (42 U.S.C. 6945 (d)) and associated state regulations. Consistent with Congressional direction, funding for the CCR Grant program is not subject to section 3011 of the Solid Waste Disposal Act (42 U.S.C. 6931).

- U.S. State Government (including the District of Columbia)
State agencies responsible for CCR facilities management within 50 States, the District of Columbia, and Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. For certain competitive funding opportunities under this assistance listing, the Agency may limit eligibility to compete to a number or subset of eligible applicants consistent with the Agency’s Assistance Agreement Competition Policy.

Communities - permitting CCR disposal units will protect communities from the mismanagement of CCR. Industry- with states receiving more resources, the state will be better equipped to interact with facilities.
