Legal Services for Homeless Veterans and Veterans At-Risk for Homelessness Grant Program

Objective
To provide legal services grants to public and non-profit private entities who will provide legal services to Veterans experiencing homelessness or Veterans at-risk for homelessness.
Who Can Apply
- Nonprofit Organization
- Federally Recognized Indian/Native American/Alaska Native Tribal Government
- Other Local Government Consortium, Regional Organization (Intrastate), or Other Local Government Combination
- U.S. State Government (including the District of Columbia)
Eligible entity must be a public or nonprofit private entity with the capacity to effectively administer a legal services grant. A public entity includes local government, state government, federally recognized Indian tribal government. A nonprofit private entity is an entity that meets the requirements of 26 U.S.S. 501 (c)(3)(6) or (19).
Who Benefits
A person who served in the active military, naval, air, or space service, and who was discharged or released therefrom under conditions other than dishonorable (as defined in 38 U.S.Code Section 101(2) and 38 CFR 79.5). Is homeless (as defined in the McKinney–Vento Homeless Assistance Act and 38 CFR 79.15(a), or; Are at-risk for homelessness (as defined in 38 CFR Part 79.15(b)).
