Objective
The SS4A program funds regional, local, and Tribal initiatives through grants to prevent roadway fatalities and serious injuries.
Who Can Apply
- Federally Recognized Indian/Native American/Alaska Native Tribal Government
- Municipality or Township government (inclusive of cities, towns, boroughs (except in Alaska), and villages)
- U.S. Territory (or Possession) Government (including freely-associated states)
- County Government (inclusive of boroughs in Alaska, parishes and other governmental entities with geographic regional control and authority)
- School District
- Other Local Government Consortium, Regional Organization (Intrastate), or Other Local Government Combination
- Planning Commission
- Airport Authority
- Port Authority
- Transit Authority
- Other Special Disctrict Government
- Local
- Tribal
- Territorial
Eligible funding recipients include: Metropolitan Planning Organizations; political subdivisions of a State (e.g., city, county, town, state university, etc..); Federally recognized Tribal governments; and multijurisdictional groups of entities comprised of the above. Local governments are eligible funding recipients, but State-designated Indian Tribes are not eligible funding recipients.
