Objective
Provide middle and high school students, an awareness and interest of transportation-related careers and disciplines, as they contemplate their educational pursuits. Increase the number of student participants into the program by creating innovative Science Technology Engineering & Math (STEM) focused curricula. Increase the number student participants pursuing advanced degrees and careers in transportation-related STEM fields, while helping to broaden the participation in those fields, and over time deliver a STEM-capable workforce. Increase STEM literacy for all students, including those pursuing STEM-related careers or additional study in a STEM discipline. A quality STEM program helps to develop critical thinking, reasoning, teamwork, investigative and creative capabilities for students to use in all areas of their lives. Provide student participants exposure to college campus life whether residential or non-residential by carrying out comprehensive programs including dormitory and extracurricular events characteristic of college life. This Assistance Listing 20.261 created in August 2025 was included in the previous ALN 20.215, please refer to former ALN 20.215 for FY24 and FY25 financial obligations. The new Assistance Listing 20.261 will be utilized by DOT at the start of FY 2026.
