100,000 Strong in the Americas Innovation Fund

 ·  STATE, DEPARTMENT OF

Objective

WHA’s signature hemisphere-wide 100K Strong Initiative provides funds to teams of U.S. and regional education institutions to build partnerships that expand access to educational exchanges and training opportunities in the Americas. 100K Strong champions American excellence and innovation, creates long-term public-private-academic sector partnerships that ensure a stronger, more secure, and prosperous Hemisphere. 100K Strong benefits U.S. economies and projects American innovation and strength by establishing deep, long-term institutional partnerships that also counter China’s influence in the Western Hemisphere. Primary goals include following: a) increase number of grants available to HEIs throughout the Western Hemisphere; b) foster connectivity between HEIs in the region; 3) promote and select competitive 100K program proposals from HEIs; 4) monitor 100K projects and support HEI-grant recipients during implementation and reporting; 5) conduct evaluation of impact of 100K grants on HEI recipients and students/faculty; 6) distribute targeted 100K-branded materials; 7) identify and cultivate non-USG funds from regional private, public, academic sectors in coordination with WHA-DC and WHA Posts.
