Objective

Program goal(s) name: Safeguard athletes against abuse. Program goal(s) description: Support oversight of the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee and each national governing body to safeguard amateur athletes against sexual, physical, and emotional abuse in sports. Program objective(s) name: Implement training and protocols and conduct audits to oversee and ensure compliance with procedures to protect young athletes. Program objective(s) description: Establish effective oversight of sports organizations by providing comprehensive training programs, policies, and standards to prevent abuse; develop background screening policies for new and existing USOPC and NGB organizational staff, including coaches, instructors and volunteers; oversee audits to ensure policies and procedures are followed correctly; ensure mechanisms are in place to report to investigative and prosecutorial authorities all forms of abuse; and establish best practices to address and support victims of abuse.
