STOP School Violence

Objective

Program goal(s) name: Provide resources to prevent and reduce school violence Program goal(s) description: Improve school safety by providing K-12 students, teachers, and staff with tools to recognize, respond to, and prevent acts of violence. Program objective(s) name: Train personnel and implement strategies to improve school safety. Program objective(s) description: Train school personnel and educate students on preventing student violence against others and themselves; develop and implement threat assessment and/or intervention teams to identify school violence risks and implement strategies to mitigate those risks; and implement technology solutions, such as an anonymous reporting technology, designed to provide a way for students, teachers, faculty, and community members to anonymously identify school violence threats, or other solutions that will improve school safety.

The STOP School Violence Act of 2018 states that training for teachers and education of students to prevent violence against others and self. This will include specialized training for school officials responding to mental health crisis.
