Objective
Program goal(s) name: Assist states and localities in developing or expanding services that meet the needs of incarcerated parents and their children. Program goal(s) description: Reduce the likelihood of antisocial behaviors, future involvement in the juvenile justice system, reduce recidivism, and support responsible parenting that leads to healthy child development, resiliency, and improved interactions among incarcerated parents and their minor children, family and community members. Program objective(s) name: Provide services to support incarcerated parents and their children. Program objective description: Provide staffing, equipment, tools, and other resources to create child-friendly spaces; provide services, such as counseling and mentorship, that reduce recidivism rates and improve parental reconnection with their minor children; and implement policies that improve visitation and caregiver engagement.
