Sexual Assault Forensic Examinations

Objective

Program goal(s) name: Improve quality of and accessibility to trained sexual assault examiners. Program goal(s) description: Establish or expand SANE/SAFE programs to provide trauma-informed medical forensic examinations and victim services in a variety of settings (e.g., hospital, community, campus, correctional, law enforcement-based programs). Program objective(s) name: Support Victims of Crime Program objective(s) description: Hire qualified SANE professionals to provide services to victims of sexual assault; Increase the availability of SANE exams for sexual assault victims including through innovative service delivery models (e.g., telehealth, mobile health units); improve coordination between law enforcement agencies, healthcare facilities, and victim advocates to provide a comprehensive response for sexual assault survivors.
