Strengthening the Medical Examiner - Coroner System

Objective

Program goal(s) name: Improve the ME/C system. Program goal(s) description: Increase the number of qualified forensic pathology practitioners through forensic pathology fellowships and strengthen the quality and consistency of ME/C services in their respective offices. Program objective(s) name: Increase the number of certified forensic pathologists. Program objective(s) description: Recruit candidates who have completed the necessary medical education and pathology residency requirements by soliciting applications from institutions with current Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accredited forensic pathology fellowship programs; and Ensure that agencies performing postmortem examinations are following industry and professional standards and performance criteria.
