Title VI Federal Guarantees for Financing Tribal Housing Activities

Objective

To provide access to sources of private financing to Indian Housing Block Grant recipients that want to finance additional grant-eligible affordable housing and related community development projects.

Who Can Apply

  • Federally Recognized Indian/Native American/Alaska Native Tribal Government
  • Tribally Designated Housing Authority

The applicant must be a federally recognized Indian tribe or Tribally Designated Housing Entity (TDHE) that is either a beneficiary or recipient of IHBG funds.

Who Benefits

  • Federally Recognized Indian/Native American/Alaska Native Tribal Government
  • Tribally Designated Housing Authority

Indian tribes and their members are the beneficiaries. A TDHE acts on behalf of an Indian tribe, as authorized by Tribal and TDHE resolutions.
