Objective
• Expand Production: Enhance domestic competitiveness and increase the volume of goods manufactured within the U.S. • Drive Innovation: Champion U.S. leadership in advanced manufacturing research, innovation, and technology. • Cultivate Talent: Fast-track the development of a modern manufacturing workforce to meet the demands of emerging technologies. • Technology Transition: Identify pathways to advanced manufacturing technology commercialization. • Mitigate Barriers: Resolve industrial scalability and reliability issues through stakeholder-driven strategic roadmaps. • Foster Collaboration: Strengthen interdisciplinary research hubs where NIST, academia, and industry collaborate on measurement science and standards.

Eligibility for all programs are listed in the applicable NOFO. Typically, the competitions are open to all: accredited institutions of higher education; non-profit organizations and for-profit organizations that are organized and operated in the United States (including U.S. territories) with majority domestic ownership or control; and State, Tribal, local, and Territorial Governments. Typically, individuals and unincorporated sole proprietors; foreign public entities and foreign organizations; and federal agencies and Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs) are not eligible to apply.
