Grazing Lands Conservation Initiative

Objective

To expand the delivery of conservation technical assistance to support grazing planning and conservation practice implementation, education, on-farm/ranch demonstrations, farmer networks, and workforce training projects to improve resilience. GLCI is a competitive grant program offered through an annual notice of funding opportunity.

Private grazing land producers are the primary beneficiaries of GLCI.

Entity types that may meet the applicant eligibility include the following: a. Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized) b. Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments) c. Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS (other than institutions of higher education) d. Farmer or rancher organizations e. State and local conservation governmental agencies f. Agricultural Extension Services g. Land grant universities including 1890 or 1994 land grant institution (7 U.S.C. 3222 et seq.), Hispanic-serving institution (20 U.S.C. 1101a), or other minority-serving institution, such as an historically Black college or university (20 U.S.C. 1061), a tribally controlled college or university (25
