Meat, Poultry, and Egg Products Inspection

Objective

To ensure that all meat, poultry, and egg products produced in plants and shipped in commerce are safe, wholesome, and accurately labeled. Its purpose is to protect public health by enforcing strict standards for food safety, proper labeling, and humane handling during slaughter and processing.

Who Can Apply

  • U.S. State Government (including the District of Columbia)
  • Department or Agency of a U.S. State Government

Eligibility is limited to State agencies who have "At Least Equal to" programs under Assistance Listing 10.475
