Meat and Poultry Intermediary Lending Program

Objective

Grants can be made to intermediaries to facilitate financing to qualified ultimate recipients. Eligible ultimate recipient projects involve the start-up or expansion of meat and poultry processors to increase processing capacity and help create a more resilient, diverse, and secure U.S. food supply chain.

Who Can Apply

• Federally Recognized Indian/Native American/Alaska Native Tribal Government
• For-Profit Organization
• Small Business Person

An Eligible Intermediary must be domiciled in a state and be one of the following entity types: 1) private nonprofit corporation, 2) public agency, 3) Indian Tribe or Tribal Entity, or 4) a cooperative.

An ultimate recipient must be a legal entity in a State organized as a cooperative organization, corporation, partnership, or other legal entity organized and operated on a for-profit or nonprofit basis; an Indian Tribe or Tribal Entity; a public body; or an individual.
