Restrictions

Grants are restricted to educational scholarships to students who have graduated from schools located in West Virginia and to organizations exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. To be eligible for an educational scholarship, a prospective recipient must graduate from a high school located in West Virginia; have and maintain either a "B" average or a grade point average of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0; verify financial need; and demonstrate positive citizenship and active involvement in the prospective student's school and community. Scholarship funds may be applied toward the recipient's tuition, books, room, board and/or fees at any public or private college, community college or university. No scholarship may be awarded to the grantor, a trustee, or a member of the advisory board, or any descendant of the grantor, a trustee, or member of the advisory board.
