How to Apply
Requests should be presented in a cover letter which describes the program, its objectives and specifies the amount of funds needed. The letter should convey justification for the request and be signed by a fully authorized official of the organization. Included as part of the application should be: - An annual budget of the organization - A listing of the organization's directors/trustees - Detailed information concerning costs of the project or program to be funded - A time schedule (if appropriate) - Additional information deemed necessary by the applicant will be welcomed

Restrictions
Each applicant must present evidence of a charitable, tax-exempt status. Further, each applicant must provide information clearly indicating that any contribution made to it by the Hillman Family Foundations will be considered a "qualifying distribution" as defined in the Internal Revenue Code Section 4942(g) and will not be considered a "taxable expenditure" as defined in the Internal Revenue Code Section 4945(d). Recipients of contributions are expected to provide written periodic reports concerning the funding project or program. The time table and content of the reports will be specified by the Foundations when each contribution is made. Preference is given to proposals submitted by organizations located in the Pittsburgh/Southwestern Pennsylvania areas.
