Restrictions

The foundation awards grants to non-profit agencies and organizations that have qualified with the Internal Revenue Service as publicly supported Sec 501(c)(3) organizations and to governmental units described in Sec 170(c)(1). The foundation is primarily concerned with Lorain County, Ohio and communities in which Nord family members reside. The foundation is especially interested in projects that bring opportunity to under-resourced people and communities, strengthen the bond of families, and improve the quality of people's lives. Leading program areas of interest are health and social services, civic affairs, education, arts and cultural activities. The foundation considers both program and capital grant requests. Funds are usually granted for a one year period, but multi-year proposals are also considered.
