Awards are limited to those purposes which are charitable, religious, scientific, testing for public safety, literary, educational, fostering national or international amateur sports competitions (but only if no part of its activities involve the provision of athletic facilities or equipment), or for the prevention of cruelty to children or animals within the meaning of section 501(c)(3). However, awards will be granted to applicants only in the judgment and discretion of the Trustees of the Foundation based upon the preceding guidelines.
