To qualify for the geraldine k. Morris award, one must have a parent who is presently a u.s. Army corps of engineers officer/warrant on active duty, or is/was a retired u.s. Army corps of engineers officer/warrant, or was a u.s. Army corps of engineers officer/warrant who died while on active duty, or is currently a corps of engineers civilian (gs9 or above) assigned to HQ, USACE, and plans to pursue a nursing career. To quality for the geraldine k. Morris nursing scholarship, one must have been accepted into the univrsity of north carolina - wilmington (umc-w) nursing program as either an undergraduate or graduate student. This is a merit scholarship and the receipient must have achieved at least a 3.25 GPA and must maintain that average to be eligible for renewal. Preference will be given to a student who has indicated a desire to enlist in the armed forces, with top priority given to the army.
