We expect to serve more 12,000 people and the nearly 20,000 patients they bring wrc. A Grant from the Mary Ruth Weisel Foundation will provide crucial support for the following: 1) campaigns to end live animal "labs" in which animals are subjected to invasive procedures to train physicians and surgeons in post-graduate residency programs; and terminal surgery labs in U.S. And canadian veterinary schools in which perfectly healthy dogs are operated on and then, killed to train students; 2) experiments that subject animals to profound pain and suffering to test new chemicals, drugs, and consumer products - replacing them with modern, nonanimal test methods; 3) online and in-person trainings for scientists in how to use alternatives to animals to study product safety and the etiology and treatment of disease, as well as the publication of peer reviewed scientific papers and presentations at international scientific conferences.
