Applications, guidelines, and submission procedures are available on the Bay State Savings Bank website at https://www.baystatesavingsbank.com/about-us/community-involvement/bss-charitable-foundation/ Applicants will be asked to provide: - The purpose of the grant - The organization's mission statement - The organization's total annual budget - The project's budget for which funding is being requested Applicants will also be asked to write a narrative statement that includes: - The need(s) to be addressed by the project - The target population - The goals, objectives, and timetable of the project - A list of any collaborators - Future plans for sustaining the project Applicants may also be asked to enclose with their proposals copies of their financial statements, tax returns, IRS exemption letters, annual reports, and board lists.

Restrictions

The Bay State Savings Charitable Foundation provides support only to non-for-profit, tax-exempt organizations as defined by Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code. Funding requests ranging in size from $1,000 to $2,000 will be considered. The Foundation discourages repeat requests for funding of the same programs/projects as well as requests submitted in consecutive years by the same organization. The Foundation is open to receiving requests from the same organization as long as there is a lapse of one year in approval. The Foundation will not support: individuals; political organizations or candidates; religious institutions; fraternal organizations; employment unions; or fully tax supported entities (schools, libraries, etc.).
