How to Apply

Part XIV line 2(b): Written, providing complete information on the applicant, including its name, address, IRS determination letter, history, purpose, current operations, financial statements and budgets and governing board, as well as the specific purpose to which the requested funds would be directed.

On Unsolicited Proposals yes

Restrictions

Contributions are made mainly in support of activities in New Orleans and to a lesser extent, elsewhere in Louisiana. The foundation does not make contributions to individuals. Currently, the fund's program of charitable distributions focuses exclusively on taking advantage of the historic opportunity to reform public education in New Orleans. Recipients must be a U.S. governmental agency or a public charity as described under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and be classified under Sections 509(a)(1) or (2). Due to expenditure responsibility requirements, gifts will not be made to "fiscal sponsors", private foundations or supporting organizations (i.e. a section of 501(c)(3) organization with further designation under Section 509(a)(3)). However, gifts can be given directly to the supported organization.
