It is planned that such scholarships will normally be awarded to graduating seniors from high schools in Monroe County, Illinois and from other communities in which Luhr Bros., Inc. has a presence to enable the recipient to obtain a college degree from educational institutions described in IRC Section 170(b)(1)(A)(II). The scholarship awards will be based upon academic ability and good character of recipients that demonstrates an interest in the chosen field and a likelihood of successful graduation in the chosen field. The availability of scholarships will be published through the career service programs of the high schools in Monroe County, Illinois and through bulletin board notices at offices of Luhr Bros., Inc. A recipient will be required to maintain a 3.5 average on a 5.0 scale to remain eligible for the annual installments of the scholarship award.
