The foundation's goal is to provide scholarships and grants to individuals to encourage their post-high school education. The foundation intends to make scholarship grants to students beginning their university, college or community college studies that school year, and who is or will be a graduate from a high school in a geographical area served by Hawaii Emergency Physicians Associated, Inc. Financial need will be a primary consideration in selecting the scholarship grant recipients. Other criteria that may be considered include, but is not limited to, the following: prior academic performance; performance of each student on tests designed to measure ability and aptitude for educational work; recommendations from instructors of the student and any others who have knowledge of the student's capabilities; additional biographical information regarding a student's academic, employment, community service and other relevant experiences.
