Grantees are encouraged to talk to a program officer before submitting a Letter of Inquiry (LOI). The Letter of Inquiry (LOI) should describe the project - addressing its impact, effectiveness, feasibility, and sustainability. After review of the inquiry, organizations may be invited to submit a full proposal for consideration. Please refer to "What Makes a Strong Proposal" on the Trust's website (www.pipertrust.org). Restrictions

Eligible organizations must: A) be located within or primarily serving residents of Maricopa County, AZ; B) be tax-exempt under IRC Section 501(c)(3) or an instrumentality of government; C) have been in active existence as a 501(c)(3), unless a government instrumentality, for at least three years; D) deliver programs which support healthcare and medical research, children, older adults, arts and culture, education, or religious organizations; E) not be a private foundation or ineligible Type III supporting organization.
